Nicole Highmark grew up hearing her dad playing the piano everyday. He would often sit down with her and show her simple melodies. Nicole was always curious to learn about the piano.
At 8 years of age, she began formal piano lessons. This continued for many years. She received awards for her performances.
After several years of playing, Nicole got interested in teaching others to play piano. She began studying pedagogy (the art of teaching piano) at Reisinger Conservatory of Music.
Nicole enjoys composing piano music and has written several pieces. She finds that it is a good way to express yourself. It also gives a feeling of accomplishment to write music. Students who are interested in composing will learn about the process in their lessons.
It's never to early or late to learn the piano.
